Reporting Racist Incidents

You can report racist incidents with Central Scotland Racial Equality Council.

Simply contact us on 01324 610 950 or email admin@centralscotlandrec.org.uk.

Racist incidents ranging from harassment, verbal abuse and physical violence are offences under the criminal law. Inciting racial hatred is also a criminal offence. Publishing and disseminating materials such as leaflets and newspapers that are likely to incite racial hatred is also a criminal offence. If anyone has a complaint with respect to any of these criminal matters they should be reported to the Police. Central Scotland Racial Equality Council works in partnership with all Public Bodies in Central Scotland under our multi-agency partnership RAHMAS (Racist Attacks and Harassment Multi-Agency Strategy) to provide a co-ordinated response to racist incidents, and to ensure that the needs of victims are met in the policy-making process. To maximise the effectiveness of the partnership it is vital that we receive details of every incident in Central Scotland.
